Loose lead walking – stage 2

Place the lead in one hand and your treat pouch on your other side. Start by doing a few eye-contact treat drops to get them ready to focus on you. After a couple of repeats, next time that they give you eye contact, say “Good”, step backwards two steps, and give them a treat after your steps. Give the treat next to your leg. Repeat, varying the direction that you walk after each eye contact (i.e. forwards, sideways or backwards two steps). Eye contact – “Good” – Two steps – Treat – Repeat.
