Off and On

If your pup has jumped on something that you don’t want them to (the sofa/ the kitchen counter etc.). Lure them off the surface with a treat and say “Off” and give them the treat as soon as all four paws are back on the ground. It is important to differentiate “Off” (get off something) with “Down” (lie down). Lure them up onto something (e.g. a seat) with a treat and once they are on it, say “On” and give them a treat. If they ever get onto an item uninvited, always say “Off”. If you want them to come up for a cuddle, you can then invite them up with the word “On”.
