Contented separation – entry and exit

Making a lot of fuss of your pup when you leave or arrive home leads to it being harder for them to settle when you go and to them being over excited about the possibility of you arriving home. Whenever you leave them, just get your stuff and head out of the door without a backwards glance. No long tearful farewells. Likewise, when you get back, just enter the house and head off into the kitchen to make a cup of tea etc. After a couple of minutes when everything is calmer, give them all the love you like (still in a calm rather than excited way).
