Walk back

Start with your pup in a standing position. Hold a treat in your hands, at your dog’s nose height, right in front of your legs (the back of your hands should be touching the front of your legs). Slowly, take two steps towards your dog, so that they have to take one or two steps backwards. As they walk backwards say “Back”. Once they have taken the steps, say “Good” and release the treat to them. Repeat. Once they can consistently do this, repeat but without the treat in your hand. Give them the treat from your treat pouch when they have taken the steps back.
